I had never heard of Max until I got in a band with my now good friend, Pete Barnes Sunstrum from...Oskaloosa. Max had invited Pete to go see him play with Joni Mitchell and returning back to Iowa, brought me a great letter from Joni to me, one of her biggest fans. Well, needless to say, I paid attention to Max's playing after that and have kept up for all these years. I regret that I never had the chance to meet him and thank him for all the great music he brought into my life. Thanks Max
